The Windmill Hill Dance Band is the Western Swing version of a “supergroup”! Brother Ethan Shaw, Sam Platts, Lilly Platts, and Martin Sargent were having so much fun being side-men in each other's bands that they decided to focus their love of traditional Western Swing on a collaborative band.
The actual cowboy of the bunch, Sam is well-known as one of the top Cowboy singers in the country, has played around the world, and has many accolades and great reviews of his performances and albums. Ethan is one of the top performers and teachers of Western Swing Steel Guitar in the world, was taught by Herb Remington, and has performed with Melissa Carper, Al Dressen, Buck Owens, Dwight Yoakum, and countless others. Lilly has spent most of her life as a traditional fiddle player and is a winner of the Bob Wills Fiddle Contest. Martin is a top-tier bassist, and has backed up some of the best Americana and traditional Country artists in the country.
Together, they have performed at the prestigious National Cowboy Poetry Convention in Elko, NV, the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival (California), and countless dancehalls, festivals, and private events across Texas.
